Claremont Heritage Home Tour

The 2017 Claremont Heritage Home Tour will feature 6 homes in the Towne Ranch neighborhood. Docents will lead visitors through the homes, which include the home of management visionary Peter F. Drucker, a mid-Century post and beam Criley/McDowell design, a Green Energy efficient home, a meticulously re-designed family friendly home, plus a designer’s residence.

With the expansion of suburbs post-WWII, the ranch house grew out of a search for a homestead in nature. Harkening back to the ranches of the early American West, ranch homes of the 1950s were thoroughly modern in building techniques, materials, and systems, yet recalled the area’s rustic roots and romantic past.

Check-in will be at the Garner House in Memorial Park where there will also be a curated Art & Design Showcase featuring Southern California art, design, architecture, sustainable living and healthy lifestyle companies and organizations. The presentation also includes speakers, films and an exhibition of Claremont Modern architecture and design.
