News From The Santa Monica Conservancy Conservancy Receives Grant For Documenting Histories
The California Council for the Promotion of History (CCPH) recently awarded the Santa Monica Conservancy of grant of $750 toward the completion of its Discovering Our Past, historic resource online catalog. Historian, author and Conservancy member Paula Scott has been writing the descriptions for inclusion in the catalog which can be accessed at the Conservancy’s website, www.smconservancy.org. The CCPH, a part of the California State University Department of History, indicated that our catalog fit in with its mission of promoting high standards for historical research, presentation, and professional practices. Thanks to Nina Fresco, Arlene Hopkins, Tom Cleys and Ann Troutman for their work securing the grant. Recent press coverage of the grant includes this story in the Canyon News. Posted August 15, 2005
