Conservancy Emeritus Board Member Ken Breisch, Ph.D., will discuss his new book The Los Angeles Central Library: Building an Architectural Icon, 1872-1933, at a program co-sponsored by the Society of Architectural Historians and the Santa Monica Public Library.

The book traces how the library evolved from a private library association into one of the largest public library systems in the US with architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue’s building, a beloved LA landmark, as its centerpiece. Copies will be available for sale and signing by the author. More information can be found here.
